Not to say that this figure is a record for a project in the "open world games" genre, but the virtual landscape here is distinguished by great variety. Different districts of Los Santos, small towns, rural areas, mountains, forests, beaches, and everything we are used to seeing in real life. To get from one corner of the game map to another, you have to change several types of transport or use any flying vehicle.

The fifth part significantly differs from its predecessors:

• three protagonists instead of one. Each of the protagonists has their unique ability.
• the largest open world in the series;
• the underwater world can now be explored;
• a large selection of mini-games;
• robberies with several plan options and selection of companions;
• you can play as a dog, and also train it.

Players are given a lot of freedom of action, including in terms of committing various crimes. For violating the law, the police will actively search for the offender, and the higher the offense – the more attention the law enforcement will show towards one of the protagonists. The finale of the game in "cops and robbers" will either be landing in jail with subsequent confiscation of all weapons and money or meeting a hospital bed, also not for free.

Interesting: In English, the expression "grand theft auto" means car theft. Stealing a vehicle is one of the hallmarks of the series. In them, you can get into the car right on the road, throwing drivers out of the cabin.

GTA 5 Online

After the final scene of the story mode of GTA 5, the world of the game fades. There are no more daring robberies, close friends do not require help, so it is not easy to find something interesting in it. The biggest innovation was the multiplayer mode. In it, you can go through challenges with random people, earn money, buy weapons, get valuable types of transport, etc. The online mode here is a full-fledged multiplayer with leveling up, gear, and quests.

Players have dreamed of this since the release of GTA San Andreas. Up to 30 players and 2 spectators can be on the map at the same time. You can compete or help each other. Another unusual way to entertain yourself is recording videos. The game has powerful tools for shooting and editing videos. You can even make a movie, which some enthusiasts have managed to do.

Like the previous parts of the series, the fifth GTA looks quite realistic: moreover, the game's graphics engine still holds up and does not yield to new projects in terms of beauty. The physical engine deserves special attention, as thanks to the Euphoria technology, NPCs began to grab bullet wounds, fall from stairs, burn in fire react to hits, stagger, etc. There is no need to talk about the control of transport – each car feels and is controlled differently.

At the same time, the PC version of GTA 5 has excellent optimization with its relatively modest system requirements. On the Internet, you can find many videos in which the game runs quite briskly even on outdated computers with equally outdated graphics cards.

There are 25 settings in the graphics settings that can be adjusted to your computer. The game supports UHD and4K resolutions of the screen, but powerful hardware is required for such modes.

GTA 5 is not demanding on the video card, so even on a weak video adapter, you can turn on high graphics settings. Smoothing is the most demanding parameter, it is best to turn it on only on the most powerful graphics cards.

What Should a Computer for GTA 5 Be Like?

The official system requirements are not entirely up-to-date. Here's why:

• they change over time, as new expansions are released;
• they are measured at the time of release, or even earlier, when the game is still relatively raw;
• test computers are clean, with no extra programs installed.

For the normal operation of a computer, a power reserve is required when the game is running. Each running program uses RAM and CPU resources. After all, you won't be able to do without using antivirus, browser, messenger, and so on.

The main thing is to have a stable FPS, i.e., the number of screen updates per second. The image will be smoother if the number of these updates is higher. When playing heavy effects, the load on the graphics card increases and there might even be a drop in performance. Therefore, a powerful card is needed to provide the player with a stable 60 frames. However, using monitors with a higher refresh rate for the game is not necessary.

How to Choose a Graphics Card?

The power of the graphics card really needs to be small. More important is the memory size, as high-quality textures take up a lot of video memory. The table below shows tests of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards in three screen resolutions - FullHD, QHD, and 4K. All graphics settings are maximized, including TXAA anti-aliasing.

Interesting: The game has a setting that increases its demands several times over: MSAA anti-aliasing. It smooths the contours of objects and removes jagged edges.

How to Choose a Processor?

A high-performance multi-core processor is needed. The Intel Core i5-11600KF is a processor that can handle the game 100%. Opt for even more powerful models (including 12th generation), as they allow you to stream, process videos quickly, and play other, more demanding games.

How Much RAM is Needed?

At maximum resolution and the best graphics settings, the game along with the system occupies almost 9 GB of RAM. A good reserve of RAM is necessary for the normal operation of the computer. So, if you plan to play in UHD quality, you need 16 GB of RAM. If you own a FullHD monitor, the game with the system will take up 6-7 GB, less than 8 GB will not be enough.

Is it Worth Getting an SSD for GTA 5?

Loading the map occurs once when the game is started, and it is quite fast. Using a solid-state drive (SSD) is not necessary. However, computers with combined memory operate faster.

HDDs are more capacious, durable, and less expensive. They are better used for long-term file storage. SSDs have higher data read/write speeds but are more expensive and not as capacious. It's better to install Windows and games on it.
