At The Game Awards 2024 ceremony, CD Projekt RED announced The Witcher 4 – the continuation of
the legendary "Witcher" series. We will tell you everything known about the upcoming game,
discuss its possible system requirements, and release date.
HYPERPC Computer for The Witcher 4 – January 2025
To play The Witcher 4, you will likely need a very powerful PC with a multi-core processor, fast
RAM, and a high-performance graphics card. Any HYPERPC computer meets these requirements. Be
ready to embark on unforgettable adventures in the world of "The Witcher" with a gaming computer
from HYPERPC!
The Witcher 4 is a direct continuation of the third part. Instead of Geralt of Rivia, players
will take on the role of Ciri – the adopted daughter of the main character. She will follow
the path of a monster slayer and even undergo the Trial of the Grasses – a very dangerous
procedure involving alchemical elixirs to enhance physical abilities.
The developers admitted they faced challenges when choosing Ciri as the protagonist. In The
Witcher 3, there are several endings, and in one of them, Ciri
dies. However, according to the creators, they included a subtle hint suggesting that Ciri
survived. The developers made every effort to ensure her story is as canonical as possible,
aligning with the third game's narrative. Therefore, regardless of players' choices in The
Witcher 3, the new game's storyline will remain coherent.
More than 10 years have passed since the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and many gamers
have not played the original trilogy. To attract both old and new audiences, the developers
plan to launch a new saga with The Witcher 4, which will be loosely connected to the events
of the third part. This means gamers won't need to play the old parts or read Andrzej
Sapkowski's books to understand the plot.
However, we suggest you won't fully enjoy The Witcher 4 without experiencing the previous
parts and the book saga. CD Projekt RED skillfully and lovingly brought the book universe
into the original trilogy. Millions of gamers worldwide highly appreciated their work. Until
The Witcher 4 is released, we recommend playing the earlier parts to maximize your enjoyment
of the new game.
What is Known About Gameplay?
The core gameplay will remain unchanged. The Witcher 4 will still be an action-adventure RPG
in an open world. Developers are significantly enhancing the progression and combat systems,
aiming for the variety of builds and playstyles to resemble Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately,
there is no more detailed information
about gameplay yet.
What is Known About System Requirements?
Information about The Witcher 4 system requirements is not yet available. It is known that
the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 instead of the proprietary Red Engine used
for all previous studio games. Developers are significantly modifying Unreal Engine 5 for
improved optimization and better tool creation.
Considering the engine's immense complexity and the studio's preference for cutting-edge
graphics technologies, low system requirements are unlikely. The Witcher 4 is expected to be
one of the most demanding games of its time, just like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and
Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 4 Release Date
There is no official release date yet, and the developers do not plan to announce it
until
they are sure they can complete the project by the designated date. This approach aims
to
avoid repeating the situation with Cyberpunk 2077, where the game was released with
numerous
technical issues.
It is known that full development of The Witcher 4 started only in November 2024. Before
that, the game was in the pre-production phase, where CD Projekt RED discussed concepts,
story ideas, concept art, and development plans. Considering this, The Witcher 4 will
not
be released before 2027.
