In 2019, Sony began releasing its exclusive games for personal computers. In 2023, it was The Last of Us' turn, one of the highest-rated games in industry history.

PC gamers will not receive the outdated 2013 project, but a remake that was released not long ago for PlayStation 5. The new version of the game is called "The Last of Us Part I."

Game plot

The plot of The Last of Us Part 1 takes place in the United States of America during a zombie apocalypse. The remaining humans hide in quarantine zones - small areas within major cities. An organization called FEDRA - the Federal Disaster Response Agency - exercises some authority over them.

The main character is a middle-aged man named Joel. Together with his partner Tess, he engages in smuggling. The partners embark on regular trips outside the quarantine zone in search of weapons and valuable resources, which they trade for food coupons.

During one of their deals, Joel and Tess are set up. To get out of a dangerous situation, they must perform one task: deliver a fourteen-year-old girl named Ellie to another city outside the quarantine zone. Thus, a long journey begins, which will test not only the heroes' survival skills but also their ability to express their feelings towards others. The latter has long been lost by all, as everyone has experienced a severe personal tragedy.

The Last of Us Remake is an adventure game, stealth-action, and horror with elements of survival from a third-person perspective. All three genres are so vividly expressed that categorizing the new product as just one of them is incorrect.

"Adventure Games" are based on narrative storytelling and travel to unexplored places. The Last of Us is based precisely on these elements.

The project is based on a story that tells the difficult fate of the heroes. The game is filled with dialogues, cutscenes, and a plethora of different characters. Gamers have to get to know them, as well as learn their personal tragedy and survival story. Some characters will be friendly, but there will also be those who will try to harm the main character and his companions.

The game's plot involves a long journey. Gamers will have to visit several American cities and get acquainted with their histories of decay. To survive, players will have to hide and avoid confrontations with enemies. Some of them can be neutralized from behind or distracted by throwing objects. Unlike many other games, the artificial intelligence in The Last of Us is not stupid. If you throw a distracting rock right in front of an enemy's face, he will not follow it and will discover the player.

The Lust of Us as a survival horror game

The game's world is a zombie apocalypse. The main threat in it comes from the infected, which in The Last of Us are divided into:

Each type of zombie has a unique appearance and behavioral characteristics. Players must adapt to each monster to effectively fight them. There are very few bullets for firearms and medical supplies in the game. They must be saved and only used in the most critical cases. Resources are scattered throughout the location. They are needed to improve weapons or create more spacious holsters.
