Archetype Reworks Male Jun in Exodus Following Fan Criticism
On October 22, 2026, Archetype Entertainment showed an updated look for the male version of Jun Aslan, the protagonist of its sci-fi action RPG Exodus. The studio says the changes were made with community feedback in mind. Exodus launches April 7, 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Why Jun's face mattered so much
Exodus does not have a slider-based character creator. In its June 2026 community update, Archetype explained that Jun is a defined character with a story of their own, so players get a curated set of cosmetic options instead of full facial editing. If you dislike the face, there is no way around it.
That design choice turned a typical “I don't like the default preset” complaint into a real issue. Press coverage captured fans calling the original male Jun unconvincing.
What Archetype showed
Co-founder and General Manager Chad Robertson presented the new Jun in a video, saying the team takes player opinion seriously. The clip shows the reworked model across several in-game scenes.
The studio did not publish a written list of changes, so the best way to judge is the video and comparison screenshots circulated by the press.
What you can customize in Exodus
Exodus has no full facial editor, but customization still covers:
- male or female Jun;
- hairstyle and hair color;
- facial hair;
- eye color and makeup;
- tattoos.
The female version of Jun, known to the community as FemJun, has not been shown yet. Archetype says her reveal is coming soon and that it is planning something special. The studio is also preparing a broader look at combat, including the Recycler weapon's modes, the Gauntlet and stealthier approaches through the Centauri cluster. Exodus has passed 500,000 wishlists, with additional rewards promised at 1 million.
