Forspoken: system requirements
Forspoken is a Japanese action RPG being developed by Luminous Productions. The publisher is Square Enix, known for franchises such as Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Deus Ex, and Hitman. Forspoken will be the debut project for Luminous Productions. The studio was founded recently in 2018, but it is made up of experienced developers who have released Final Fantasy XV. Some veterans of the gaming industry are also working on the new game - the story is being developed by Amy Hennig, who brought the world the first 3 parts of Uncharted. And the lore of the game is being developed by Gary Whitta, the writer of "The Book of Eli" and "Rogue One".
Game plot
The main character is a New Yorker named Frey Holland. Her dream of finding her place in life is shattered by the harsh reality. Broken and in despair, Frey desperately wants to leave the American metropolis and start a new life. One day, her wish is granted, but not as the protagonist wanted.
Frey encounters a magical portal that transports her to an unfamiliar place. Upon waking up, she finds a talking bracelet on her arm. Through dialogue, Frey learns that she has been transported to Athia - a fantasy world filled with magic and sorcery. The inhabitants of this world are suffering from the wickedness of insane witches who have brought a magical haze to Athia, turning living creatures into ruthless monsters. The only safe area is Sepala - a city located high in the mountains. The main character reaches it and decides to return home as soon as possible. But to do so, she must defeat the evil witches. Only Frey Holland can do this, as she is not influenced by the magical fog.

Gameplay
Forspoken is a Japanese action RPG played from a third-person perspective in an open world. Players must travel through the world of Athia and clear one region after another using a rich set of magical abilities. These abilities appear to the main character through the talking bracelet. When the witch's influence weakens, players must engage in a major battle and defeat the area's leader on the battlefield.
In addition to clearing regions, players will have access to story and extra missions. Story missions will take players through most of Athia and tell the story of the main character. Extra missions will provide more information about the game world and introduce players to secondary characters. According to the developers, there will be a minimum of "fetch quests" among the side missions. Optional missions will also help players level up their abilities and acquire better equipment. In terms of customization, Luminous Productions has gone far. For example, players will be able to change even the manicure on their heroine's fingers.
Movement and parkour
In the action RPG with an open world, horses are usually used for movement. However, in Forspoken, animals cannot be used. Any living creature that enters the magic fog turns into a bloodthirsty monster. Therefore, the main character uses her own legs to move around the open world. But thanks to magic, she is able to speed herself up by tens of times. The distance that is normally covered in half an hour, Frey can run in a couple of minutes. This is also facilitated by magical parkour, which allows the heroine to quickly climb walls and mountains.
Combat System
In Forspoken, battles are a key gameplay element. They are extremely spectacular and accompanied by bright special effects. The basis of the combat system is long-range attacks. Using her magical bracelet, Frey creates spells and attacks enemies from a distance. Some techniques will also require her to approach and hit the enemy with melee attacks. However, despite her magical abilities, Frey Holland is a fragile girl. She fights enemies that are tens of times bigger than her. Close combat is extremely dangerous for Frey, so the number of melee spells is limited.
The main character's abilities are divided into three categories: offensive, defensive, and special (ultimate). Offensive spells have no limitations and can be used indefinitely. Defensive spells have a cooldown period before they can be used again, the same goes for special spells. They cannot be used constantly. All ability categories are divided into elements. There are a total of 5: fire, water, air, earth, and lightning. Enemies will have resistance to some elements and weakness to others. Therefore, players will have to combine elements and switch between them.
