Second wind for HYPERPC VOLT: total cleaning and powerful upgrade

About the Project

A branded computer from the legacy lineup, HYPERPC VOLT, arrived at our upgrade center for maintenance. The client brought it in for full maintenance, and at the same time decided to upgrade the graphics card and expand the storage.

When opening the case, the PC was noticeably dirty: dust had accumulated on the case fans and on the graphics card cooling system, which caused operating temperatures and noise to increase. We carried out a complete cleaning, serviced the cooling system and replaced the thermal interfaces. After this, we moved on to the agreed upgrade.

But the client decided not to limit himself to just cleaning, so we coordinated and carried out a major upgrade.

What we have improved:

• Full maintenance: We cleaned the case, fans and radiators from dust, serviced the cooling system and replaced the thermal paste. Temperatures have returned to normal values, the computer is quiet again.
• Graphics card upgrade: At the client's request, the RTX 3090 was replaced with an RTX 5070 Ti. Both cards are high-end, but the 5070 Ti is built on the new Blackwell architecture: it supports DLSS 4 with frame generation, which significantly increases FPS in modern games.
• Reliable storage: We added two 6 TB hard drives and combined them into a mirrored RAID 1. Data is written to both drives at once, so if one fails, all information is saved on the second. Fast SSD Samsung 980 PRO remained for the system and work files.

Result

We did everything that the client asked: we carried out full maintenance, updated the graphics card and organized reliable storage with redundancy. VOLT is quiet, fast and stable again
