Custom cooling system for the flagship station: extreme cooling in the Cosmos C700M case
Client task
Nikolai Alekseevich approached us with the task of deeply modernizing his flagship PC. The main goal is the transition from air cooling to a full-fledged custom liquid cooling system that combines a central processor and a graphics card. The situation was complicated by the fact that the client was repeatedly denied other services due to a rare graphics card model, for which it was difficult to select a water block.
- Scope of activity: High-performance computing and gaming in 4K.
- Software used: Complex calculations, resource-intensive games, specialized monitoring utilities.
- Key requirement: Creation of a reliable and aesthetic cooling system based on premium components (Alphacool, Barrow) using opaque black liquid in a strict black and white design.
System Configuration
To ensure maximum heat dissipation, we used two massive radiators and top-end liquid cooling components:
- CPU:AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
- Graphics card:Palit GeForce RTX 4090 GameRock
- Motherboard:MSI MPG X670E CARBON WIFI
- RAM:96GB DDR5 Corsair Dominator Titanium
- CPU water block:Alphacool Core (AM5/LGA1700 compatible)
- Water block GPU:Bykski N-MX4090TB-X (Full Cover)
- Pump/Reservoir:Alphacool Eisbecher Aurora with reliable D5 Apex pump
- Radiators:2 x Alphacool HPE-30 Full Copper (360mm) in white
- Fittings and tubes:Barrow 16mm (silver) + Acrylic tubes 16/14mm
- Liquid:EKWB EK-CryoFuel (Solid Black)
Selection process and decision
The project required jewelry precision. The client initially considered the option of copper tubes, but in consultation with our engineers we settled on acrylic (PMMA). This allowed for a striking visual style with black liquid and provided flexibility when designing complex contours within Cooler Master's massive case.
Implementation features:
- Search for a water block: We successfully selected and delivered a rare water block from Bykski, ideally compatible with the Palit RTX 4090 GameRock PCB.
- Circuit design: HYPERPC engineers developed the optimal route: “Pump -> Radiator 1 -> Processor -> Radiator 2 -> Graphics card -> Reservoir.” This ensures that each hot component receives already cooled liquid.
- "Total Black" aesthetic: The use of matte black liquid from EKWB combined with silver Barrow fittings created a premium contrast. Specially at the client's request, the engineer implemented a complex bend of the tube above the VRM area of the motherboard, emphasizing the geometry of the system.
- Custom elements: The manufacture of an aluminum false panel was discussed to hide traces of the client’s self-upgrade, but in the end it was possible to arrange the system so that the circuit and pump organically blocked the technical holes.
Result
After 7 days of design, build and 48 hours of stress testing, the client received the ultimate workstation.
- Temperatures: Reduced CPU and GPU operating temperatures by more than 20°C under load compared to the previous solution.
- Silence: Thanks to the D5 pump and two 360mm radiators, the system remains virtually silent even in heavy-duty applications.
- Service: The PC has undergone full maintenance (Service Plus), including deep cleaning and professional cable management.
Nikolai Alekseevich was delighted with the aesthetics of the “black monolith” and has already planned an annual service in our center.
