Designing a custom circuit and assembling a flagship PC in an open Granzon G20 booth

Project Description

An enthusiast approached us with an ambitious task: he already had an uncompromising set of next-generation flagship hardware, including a combination of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor and an RTX 5090 graphics card (already equipped with a water block from the factory).
  • Request summary: Design an effective custom liquid cooling (LCC) system and assemble the system together.
  • Form factor: Open stand.
Key Requirements:
  • Tame the incredible hot temper of top components, providing them with comfortable temperatures in all scenarios.
  • Create a flawless aesthetic: the assembly should look like a monolithic art object.
  • Solve the main problem of open stands — minimize or completely hide cable management so that wires do not spoil the appearance.

Upgrade Configuration

  • Graphics card:
GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 XTREME WATERFORCE WB 32G
  • Processor:
    AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
  • Motherboard:
ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X870E DARK HERO
  • Cooling:
    HYPERPC CUSTOM
  • RAM and storage:
    G.SKILL RIPJAWS M5 NEO RGB 64GB and Samsung 9100 PRO 4TB
  • Power supply:
Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition (1600 W, 80 PLUS Titanium)
  • Case:
    Granzon G20

Selection process and decision

The configuration of top-end hardware in an open stand is always an engineering challenge. Every detail, every wire and tube bend remains visible.

  • Base and cooling: As a chassis, we proposed using Granzon G20 - a massive acrylic distribution panel (distroplate), which acts as both the body and the heart of the liquid circuit. To ensure that heat is removed from the 9950X3D and RTX 5090 combination, we introduced three thick 360 mm Bykski Granzon copper radiators into the system. For circuit safety, a Bykski automatic pressure relief valve was installed. Matte tubes were chosen as tubing - they perfectly diffuse light and give the assembly a strict, premium look.
  • Dealing with wires: The client wanted an aesthetically flawless result. To get rid of the “web” of cables that is inevitable with a classic assembly, we relied on the Lian Li wireless ecosystem. Innovative UNI FAN TL Wireless fans and the Strimer Wireless motherboard power cable allowed us to remove unnecessary wires from visibility.
  • Monitoring: As a final touch, a wide-format Universal Screen was installed on the top edge of the distroplate to display key system telemetry in real time.

Result

From a selection of the client's premium components, we created the ultimate open station. A well-thought-out custom circuit with three 360 mm radiators easily copes with the heat dissipation of the RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D, allowing the system to operate stably and quietly even under maximum load. Thanks to the use of Lian Li wireless components, the assembly turned out to be incredibly “clean” - the eye focuses only on the strict geometry of the matte tubes, premium hardware and neat backlighting.
