Failover 1C Virtualization Cluster for Banking | HYPERPC AMPERE RACK Case
Client: Commercial Bank
Task: Ensure uninterrupted financial transactions (SLA 99.99%)
The bank operated on a “single server” architecture. Hardware failure could stop the entire ABS (Automated Banking System), which is unacceptable under the regulations of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
HYPERPC Solution
We implemented a failover cluster with two nodes. The architecture eliminates a single point of failure (SPOF): if one server goes down, the second instantly takes over the load.
1. Compute Nodes: HYPERPC FORCE 1U
Servers based on Intel Xeon Scalable were used.
Role: Compute Nodes create a unified resource pool for load balancing virtual machines with 1C and SQL Server.
2. Network: Low-Latency 10GbE
Networking built on Dual-Port 10GbE adapters.
Why it matters: High-speed interconnect between nodes enables Live Migration — moving running VMs between servers without breaking user connections.
3. Boot Layer: Enterprise NVMe with PLP
For hypervisors we used SSDs (Samsung PM9A3 / Kingston DC1000B) with Power Loss Protection technology.
Reliability: PLP guarantees data integrity during sudden power loss and provides instant startup after recovery.
Result
The bank moved to an N+1 architecture. Potential downtime was reduced from hours (server repair) to minutes (automatic VM restart). Business processes are protected against hardware failures.
