Duchess's Dream PC

Project Description

Content creator Andrey “Duchess” and his team approached us with the task of creating a unique, high-performance PC for his channel and content production. The blogger is a devoted fan of the Back to the Future trilogy and asked to make a computer in this style. An ambitious concept was immediately born: to combine the atmosphere of all three films in one case, turning the computer into a cinematic multi-level diorama. The blogger himself set high expectations with his audience from the very beginning, so we had to deliver to the highest standard!

Configuration

  • Graphics card:
Palit GeForce RTX 5090 GameRock [32GB, 21760 CUDA]
  • Processor:
    AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D [up to 5.7GHz, 16 cores]
  • Motherboard:
    MSI MPG X870E CARBON WIFI
  • Cooling:
    HYPERPC CUSTOM
  • RAM:
    64GB Kingston Renegade (6400 MHz)
  • Storage:
    M.2 SSD Kingston Renegade G5
  • Power supply:
    MSI MAG A1250GL
  • Case:
Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL Black

Difficulties and concept development

The main challenge was integrating the massive props into the computer without compromising the water cooling components and proper airflow. Initially, it was planned to divide the interior space diagonally into three color zones, but due to the abundance of paraphernalia, this idea was abandoned. The project leader admitted that the task was on the verge of impossible:

Andrey, I’ve honestly regretted promising you all three films in one computer at least five or ten times. Maybe we should have offered you three computers after all.

Trilogy inside one PC

Instead of the original idea, three independent scenes were designed that fit seamlessly into the PC architecture and do not block access to the motherboard for future maintenance.

Each zone of the computer reflects iconic moments from different parts of the film. Andrey highly appreciated the team’s attention to the source material:

There are characters here that I really love, and everything stays true to the trilogy... I want to touch every detail and take a closer look.

  • First part (graphics card area): The scene from the very beginning of the trilogy, where the heroes first see the time machine make a jump, has been recreated. There is a glowing sign for the shopping mall with green fir trees and a highly detailed control panel.
  • Second part (center of the case): The stage was set against the backdrop of a detailed recreation of the casino and hotel façade. The centerpiece is the DeLorean hood and the iconic jump scene. The detailing of this area especially delighted the blogger:
  • Third part (lower tier): The lower radiator pipes were turned into a railroad track by adding realistic railroad ties. A DeLorean with original train wheels and incandescent lights rides along them, and a detailed steam locomotive follows close behind it.

Engineering solutions and “Clean Look”

The abundance of complex decor required an unconventional approach to the design of the liquid cooling circuit and wiring:

  • Hidden pump: The “clean look” concept with a cover panel was used. Hidden behind it is a powerful pump with a DDC motor, which does an excellent job of circulating coolant through a complex loop with many bends.
  • Matte tubing: To give a more expressive style, we decided to abandon the usual 12 mm tubes and install more challenging 14 mm matte acrylic tubing.

To be honest, I don’t know much about PC specifications, but knowing this is a top-of-the-line system is really cool... It’s a powerful computer. Now I’ll be able to play comfortably and really enjoy it

Result

The project became a serious challenge for all departments. The team spent dozens of hours 3D printing and hand-machining dozens of tiny parts. During the work, the team gained valuable technical insights and new experience in custom-project development.

The result is an exclusive system that fully meets the customer’s requirements and looks like a work of art. The best validation of our work was Andrey’s reaction: he was absolutely delighted with the finished computer!

Wow, this looks incredible! It’s out of this world!
